E-mailed and Online Daily Reflections

Since August 19, 2004, I have been sharing spirit reflections through a daily online blog and e-mail list, and compiling those into three volumes.
Over 1,500 daily e-mail and blog postings bring us to the publication of volume III of Daily Spirit Journal (the daily reflections over thirty-six months are archived online at “Journey Reflection,” http://www.reJourney.blogspot.com).
Thousands of people from most every country have participated in over 55,000 reflection views online, and several hundred persons participate daily via an e-mail list and online feed. (E-mail transcribebooks@triad.rr.com and ask to join the daily e-mail list, or join the XML feed at the above web address.)
The online blog banner states the intent of the daily few-minute “Journey Reflection” is to assist us to “commune with spirit, intercommune with good creation, and give thanks for being.”

Note: Many have acclaimed the visual images with each daily reflection online or by e-mail. These, for many practical reasons, are not included in the book. So sorry, for they make the daily reflection more profound.

Journey Reflection
commune with spirit . . . intercommune with good creation . . . give thanks for being

daily sent to an e-mail list via tranScribebooks@triad.rr.com

What Readers Are Saying

"Favorite Resources"

Librarian Nancy Trask of Winterset, Iowa, says: "My favorite three books are Daily Spirit Journal: Quotes & Reflections for 365 Days, by John P. Cock. Volume 1 came out in 2005, Volume 2 in 2006, and Volume 3 in 2007. They are filled with marvelous quotes from thinkers and gurus and artists and poets and theologians of all persuasions, who give us a window into the deeper meanings of life. . . .

"The author will be holding a four-session class called Profound Journey Dialogue near Dubuque on September 5-6, 2008. Email him soon because the seats will fill quickly."

“These daily reflections are spirit eyeglasses that help me glimpse the profound dimension of life, calling me to live in forgiveness and compassion.” ~Jean Long, continuing legal education, Colorado

“I really do love the the daily journey reflections each day. And the pictures* you select to accompany them are wonderful!” ~Jean Watts, spirit methods guide, Louisiana

“So many of us look forward to this daily reflection. I am always as drawn to the images* as I am to the written word. Thanks for this great creation and this small piece of sanctuary for so many.” ~Cheryl Hood, bank management, Missouri

“I so appreciate your profound spirituality and your faithfulness in creating these daily reflections. They are so totally cool and awesome and have a huge impact on my daily practice.” ~Mary Ann Wainwright, earth, creation spirituality advocate, North Carolina

“Your reflections give me a sense of one reality. If I say, “I am Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, Jain, Sikh, Native,” then I can be more deeply Christian. There is one Path, but many expressions. Thanks for helping me be one reality.” ~Koshin (Bob Hanson), monk for justice, Wisconsin

“The illustrations* with your daily reflections are uncanny, fabulous, unnerving. Together they make my day.” ~Martha Lee Sugg, artist, Colorado

“I love your reflections and read them even if I have 100+ e-mails backed up. You are speaking for our present and future and your voice is one of hope.” ~Andrea Beacham, discipleship minister, Iowa

“Your blog’s a little like a swim in the neighbor’s pool on a hot summer day. People like me should take a swim in a different month of the blog’s archives each day.”

“Thanks for the gift of these daily offerings – for the spirit behind each one, for all who have been part of these reflections, for your steadfastness in nurturing us.”
~Ellie Stock, minister, Missouri

“Frederick, by Leo Lionni, is a children’s book about a poet mouse. He doesn’t do all the foraging the other mice do, but on dark nights he brings sunshine into their lives through his poetry. I am grateful for the Frederick’s, and one in particular.” ~Lynda Cock, teacher and caregiver, North Carolina

“I appreciate opening my e-mail early mornings and receiving words of inspiration. I in turn like to send them as gifts to family and friends. Thanks for gleaning this rich harvest of thoughts of spirit people.” ~Muriel Griffin, teacher, Massachusetts
